The Sagamok First Nation, an Indigenous people in Canada, has a new school building. The architects at J.L. Richards struck a balance between cultural elements, traditions, and modern architecture. During the planning of the school, the architects involved the local residents and focused on their needs. This resulted in a community school with a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The children have everything they need under one roof – from classrooms and a gymnasium to direct access to nature for land-based learning, all in one location. Photos: Ditz Fejer
