Renovating existing buildings

The architect James Kennon converted the two-storey hardware store from the 1960s into a building with commercial space on the ground floor and a furniture showroom on the first floor. The showroom offers views of the growing Nashville skyline. Windows were added on both floors to transform the heavy brickwork and former prefabricated construction into a building flooded with light. The building was awarded the AIA Local Award 2015 and the AIA Tennessee Design Merit Award. Photos: Sanford Myers
