Jaenne Chen and Bob Dolbinski, both architects at Moore Ruble Yudell, spent a long time looking for a suitable property for their private home. Rustic Canyon is a rural oasis in the hills between Santa Monica and the Pacific Palisades in California. There they found a large but very steep plot of land. The architects cleverly built the three-storey house into the cliff. They opted for öko skin slats because they are not flammable and therefore offer protection in this region often beset by fires. The natural shade also blends in perfectly with the surroundings and the countryside. Photos: moorerubleyudell & colins_lozada
