The Koralmbahn represents a new dimension of modern mobility: over 130 kilometres of new track, numerous tunnels and more than 100 bridges create a high-performance connection between Styria and Carinthia. As part of this major project, Rieder’s facade solutions shape the appearance of several stations and operational facilities. Construction section 7.3 of the Koralmbahn in Groß St. Florian exemplifies modern, functional architecture along one of Europe’s most important new railway lines. For the facade, 3,800 m² of concrete skin elements were installed. The precisely executed glassfibre reinforced concrete facade gives the building a clear, timeless appearance while emphasising the technical character of the facility. At the same time, the elements impress with their high durability and low maintenance requirements. Photos: Ditz Fejer
