Maishofen has inaugurated a modern community centre that combines municipal administration with versatile event and meeting spaces, as well as a library. Serving as a vibrant hub of community life, it provides space for all generations, fosters cultural exchange, and strengthens social cohesion. The design by Haiden Spraider Architects won an EU-wide architectural competition. The innovative timber-hybrid building incorporates 130 cubic metres of timber construction, along with 900 square metres of timber and 250 square metres of glassfibre reinforced concrete on the facade. The new building was designed to meet the klimaaktiv Gold Standard and stands as a forward-thinking symbol of sustainability, community, and progress. Photos: Ditz Fejer
