A green gem on the Wienerberg

A special residential project is being developed on the former 5.4-hectare Coca Cola production site: Biotope City, an urban biotope, is guided by the changing conditions of urban life in terms of climate change, pollution and building development. The new district features large trees, natural open spaces and green facades. The goal is a peaceful coexistence of man and nature as well as a better quality of life for the residents.

As one of seven developers, Mischek planned a residential complex next to the Wienerberg recreation area. The main focus here was on the integration of green spaces on the facade and around the building. In addition to the planting of the balconies and the outer shell, nesting sites for beneficial insects and birds were also created to enable a functioning ecosystem. Plants are also beneficial in other respects: The greening of buildings has a cooling effect through the evaporation of water, and the green roof protects from heavy rain. The sustainable facade panels made of glassfibre reinforced concrete were used for the cladding of the underground car park, which therefore perfectly integrates into the overall concept of Biotope City.
