Berresgasse educational campus
Vienna, Austria

For years, the City of Vienna has been making use of the concept of a common school campus, a central location for various facilities. The educational campus in Hirschstetten is home to a kindergarten, a primary school and a secondary school for a total of 1,100 children. In addition, more than 11,000 m² of open space is available to the students. The campus designed by PSLA is a complex construct with the basic layout being bent several times. The facade consists mainly of untreated larch wood. More than 1,000 m² of concrete skin glassfibre reinforced concrete panels were used for the plinth area. These harmonize perfectly with the wood above.
