Transforming Waste into Design

Transforming Waste into Design

Transforming Waste into Design

In order to reduce waste in the production of facade elements made of glassfibre reinforced concrete and to accelerate our zero waste strategy, Rieder has developed a new product: the pixel. The granularity gives the elements a different aesthetic and opens up completely new design possibilities for innovative building envelopes. So the material, which is made from mineral raw materials, can not only be recycled but also upcycled in the form of small shingles. The architects from Zogg & Freuler covered the upper part of the multi-family home in Switzerland with pixel in anthracite. Photos: Dominic Müller
