Gravity Project

Columbus, Ohio

Gravity, the unique live-work-play campus in the capital of the US state of Ohio, impresses with versatile design concepts and subtle visions. The architecture of the building complex is strongly influenced by its neighbourhood and echoes the artistic, versatile and sometimes angular atmosphere of the Franklinton district. The NBBJ architects drew their inspiration for the exterior facade fitted with öko skin by Rieder from ship containers.

If you take a closer look at the Gravity Project you will get an immediate sense of the unusual vision behind it. The 5-storey high self-portrait of the Brazilian muralist Eduardo Kobra alone leaves a lasting impression. The artist, whose murals can be admired all over the world, specialises in portraits of historical figures. Among others he immortalised Nelson Mandela in Rome, Alfred Nobel in Sweden, and Anne Frank in Amsterdam. More than 20 more murals by local artists will be created as part of the Gravity Project. But that’s not all, the gigantic complex in the Franklinton neighbourhood of Columbus is bubbling with energy and vision. The interplay of art, learning and creation plays a key role for both investors and architects. For its initiator, Brett Kaufman, the project is about the strength of the community and turning to new perspectives and directions.

The Rieder Group operates internationally and offers customers a large network. With 3 locations, as well as sales partners in over 50 countries, the innovative concrete products are used worldwide.
