fibreC takes Germany by storm

Owners and planners alike are constantly looking for the perfect combination of functionality, durability and aesthetics when designing a building envelope. Many architects solve this problem by choosing fibreC glassfibre-reinforced concrete panels for the facade, as evidenced by numerous projects in Germany during the past few months.

Durability is one of the main advantages of concrete. Apart from visual requirements, the materials used for exterior applications, in particular facades, have to meet stringent technical requirements. What counts most is not the momentary visual appearance, but a reliable design that is able to meet technical and visual requirements also after ten or twenty years. Rieder accepted this challenge several decades ago.

Glassfibre-reinforced concrete panels for facades
The concrete specialist Rieder has set itself the task of perceiving concrete in a different way. The development of fibreC facade panels has been inspired by the vision of a concrete panel that is both lightweight and stable, able to withstand harsh weather and environmental conditions and at the same time sustainable and aesthetic. fibreC large-size facade panels made of glassfibre-reinforced concrete (lengths of up to 3.60 m are available) have succeeded in conquering large parts of the world and convincing architects and planners. The number of German architects discovering the advantages of thin concrete facade panels is constantly increasing.

For example the new Building for the South-West Broadcasting Company in Stuttgart was cladded with fibreC as well as one of the "crane houses" in Köln and the Coffee Plaza in the Hafen City in Hamburg.
