Öko Skin climbs the Alps!
The façade has more than a purely protective function today. The materials used must be durable and aesthetically pleasing at the same time. In addition, the environmental and technical demands on the building envelope are higher than ever. In recent years, the multifunctional material concrete has revolutionized the world of construction. Öko Skin by Rieder surprises by visual variety and conquers regions and building types that were previously reserved for traditional building materials such as wood. The outstanding technical properties of concrete in terms of durability and functionality leave many other building materials behind. Especially in alpine areas concrete solutions come with complex assembly operations and therefore constitute an obstacle. With Öko Skin Rieder makes an concrete product available that offers an entirely new approach to the appearance of concrete on the façade. Working with concrete has never been so easy. The slats are very lightweight for a concrete product and can be cut to size and processed directly at the building site where they are installed. No heavy equipment for hoisting and mounting the concrete slats to the facade is necessary for the installation of the glassfibre concrete slats. With Öko Skin Rieder has developed a concrete product that fits for both traditional and modern architecture in the Alpine and Nordic region. Horizontal wood plankings are part of the culture and the regional picture in the architecture of the Alps and in Scandinavia. With the narrow concrete panels from Rieder, the same visual effect can be obtained. Öko Skin glassfibre concrete slats are made of pure mineral ingredients and must not be sealed or painted to withstand the intense weather conditions.
